Strong relationships are the foundation of any successful classroom. To enjoy teaching, you need connection with your students.
Every young person needs clear boundaries and expectations to do well. Your classes need to know what these are and why they matter.
Everyone is accountable for their actions. You need to follow through and follow up on misbehaviour to build trust and consistency.
You should know your class like the back of your hand. Don’t be passive and support them on your own two feet.
Be prepared to reset your class. Sometimes things don’t go as planned and you need to make adjustments. There is no perfect behaviour management technique.
Follow through with your rules calmly and consistently. Students don’t respond to hostility and this isn’t what good leaders do.
How you view your students matters. Choose to see the best in them and have their back - even when it’s not their day.
